1978 Formula 23 Sportsman

The 23' Formula was one of Don Arnow's hull's that placed him in the forefront of the offshore business and world championships that followed. This particular 23' has been rebuilt by an avid yachtsman who made it his retirement project with a lot of research and education placed into the rebuild and it shows.

2010 the boat is moved to a warehouse in Fort Lauderdale Florida and gutted. The original hull and deck were kept but the balance all new and then some. She was re powered with a brand new single Mercruiser 496 8.1L fuel injected engine producing 425H.P on Bravo 3 dual prop drive. This is coupled with a new 95 Gallon Stainless Steel Fuel tank.
Electrically the boat is outstanding with a Blue Sea electrical system. Two 12V batteries power the boats DC system which are system controlled by two battery selector switches. Each DC item is rocker switched and breaker protected. On the A/C side a full 30AMP shore power system was installed. It currently runs the battery charger, cabin blower and outlets thus leaving tons of room for additional items. ABYC standard wiring and yes, complete down to lighting in the "engine room" shows you the standard she was rebuilt to.
The bright work was taken down to raw wood and brought to a 15 coat standard. The swim platform was thought out not to just look the part but is of correct build design and size with a swim ladder that works. This theme has been carried through the boat with the large over engine bench seat, the spacious teak deck area, boarding ladder on both port and stb sides, large helm and companion chairs with footrests in the correct position, ground tackle, deck cleats, safety equipment and more canvass you could wish for all on a solid 23' ft Formula platform.
