Full Description

Presently she’s on the hard at a very nice full service marinaboat yard in Wilmington North Carolina. She is a project but this boat would be a fine example of a Vagabond 47. She was caught in a storm about five years ago. She didn’t sink but she did go over on her starboard side and a port was left open on that side. When she righted up, she had a lot of water inside which ruined the entire 110 and 12V systems. Owners overheated the engine trying to get her back to a harbor safely and the engine is froze up. Briefly, the engine Ford Lehman has to come out and be rebuilt and reinstalled, most of the electrical 12V and 110 has to be completely replaced. This includes not just the wiring but also the equipment. Original teak decks are thin and need replacement. She leaks slightly in about 2 places but there are no soft spots on the deck. All seacocks need to be replaced. Most of them have already been removed. The boat is about 30 prepped for new paint. Sails were replaced about a year before I got the boat so they have maybe six months worth of use on them. The mast seem to be OK except they both need to be re-stepped. Rigging is old but it’s still usable. Original chain plates are showing a little bit of rust. All of the wood down below is original and most of it in very good shape. A few panels of the sole need to be renewed. The water and fuel tanks were replaced in 2005 but all hoses should be replaced. All water and toilet plumbing should be replaced. There is no air-conditioning system. All of the refrigeration system needs to be replaced. There is a water maker but it hasn’t worked in many years.
