Description
The Grampian 1972 was owned by a single owner until 2022. The engine was put in by the original owner in 2022, an 18 HP Yamner marine diesel. Due to illness the original owner sold the boat shortly thereafter. We bought the boat in 2023 as our first sailboat. The boat was moved to our marina in Alexandria, Virginia where we entered it into the DISC racing club. The first year we won all of the awards for our size and non-spinaker class. The second year we won the Fall 1st place title.
We also enjoyed cruising and spending the night on the boat. It has new used sales from Bacon that have 60% life left. Two new self-tailing winches, painted in 2023 and maintained for racing with frequent washes. New head in 2024. We had an inspection that is available to view. Nice interior with cushions reapholstered in 2022. Stove. The boat is registered in Alexandria, VA and docked in the Washington Sailing Marina. This is a basic boat that challenges the sailor to maximize the capabiities of the boat based on skill not electronics. Our sailing team loved sailing Hedden Out. The boat is fast. Sleeps 4-5 comfortably.
