Lake Norman is
located in North Carolina.
Located 20 miles north of Charlotte, Lake Norman is the largest man-made body of freshwater in North Carolina. Completed in 1964 as part of the construction of the Cowans Ford Dam of Duke Energy, it is fed by the Catawba River and drains into Mountain Island Lake.
With around 520 miles of shoreline, it is the perfect place to go for a small trip or quick getaway any time of the year.
