Well-equipped 1974 Westsail 32 cruiser! A great bluewater sailer for your next voyage!
The Westsail 32 built in 1974 is a classic heavy-displacement cruising sailboat renowned for its rugged construction and bluewater capability. Designed by naval architect William Crealock, the 32-foot cutter-rigged sailboat features a long keel with a transom-hung rudder, an 11-foot beam, and a draft of about 5 feet. Built with thick hand-laid fiberglass and carrying approximately 7,000 pounds of ballast, the boat displaces roughly 19,500-20,000 pounds, giving it exceptional strength and stability in offshore conditions.
The Westsail 32 gained a reputation in the 1970s as a capable long-range cruiser able to handle rough seas and extended voyages. Its cutter sail plan carries around 700 square feet of sail, while auxiliary power comes from a diesel engine.
The interior is designed for comfortable cruising, commonly featuring warm teak joinery, a forward V-berth, main salon with convertible dinette, a compact galley, navigation station, and a single head.
With generous storage, solid construction, and seaworthy design, the 1974 Westsail 32 remains a sought-after choice among sailors looking for a traditional, capable offshore cruiser that emphasizes long range sailing over speed.
