The PowerBoat Guide had this to say:
The Boston Whaler 295 Conquest (called the 28 Conquest from 1999–2001) combines the fish-ability of a well-designed off- shore express with the cruising comforts of a mid-cabin interior in an attractive and well-built package. Like all Whalers, the Conquest is unsinkable thanks to her Unibond foam-core construction. This is an expensive boat with handsome lines and above-average finish throughout. Anglers will find the Conquest’s large cockpit fully equipped with a 30-gallon above deck live-well, under-gunwale rod racks, coaming bolsters, two in-deck fish boxes, rod holders and built-in tackle drawers. An aft-facing seat behind the helm and a full-width stern seat that folds into the transom provide additional seating. Below-decks, the Conquest’s cabin is functional and well arranged with a convertible dinette/V-berth forward, a mid-berth beneath the companionway steps, a teak-and-holly sole, a compact galley, and an enclosed standup head compartment. A transom door, swim platform, bow pulpit, and swim ladder were standard. Twin 225hp outboards will deliver a cruising speed of 25 knots and top speed in the neighborhood of 38 knots.
