Designed by Umberto Felci and rated Category A, the Dufour 412 Grand Large delivers the balanced performance and seakeeping cruisers prize. Handling is straightforward with twin wheels, Facnor furling, well-placed Lewmar winches and an efficient Raymarine suite with autopilot. Ground tackle is equally capable via a Lofrans 1000 W windlass and a 20 kg Delta on 50 m of chain.
Below, the three-cabin/two-head layout makes excellent use of volume: a bright saloon with U-shaped settee, a long, functional galley (ENO two-burner, fridge, twin sinks with fresh and seawater taps) and a private forward cabin complement the twin aft cabins. Comfort touches include a bimini and dodger, electric toilets with holding tanks, a shore-charge/inverter setup, and recently renewed seacocks. The Volvo D2-50F shows ~3,522 hours at the May 2025 inspection, with saildrive seals replaced in July 2024.
