Classic Catalina 30 With Beta Diesel, AC, and Proven Cruising Layout!

This 1981 Catalina 30 combines one of Catalina's most popular cruising designs with a Beta diesel engine, air conditioning, and a comfortable interior layout well suited for weekends aboard, coastal cruising, or extended stays at the marina.

Designed by Frank Butler, the Catalina 30 earned its reputation by providing an impressive amount of usable space in an easily managed 30-foot sailboat. Her 10' 10" beam creates a roomy cockpit and surprisingly spacious accommodations below, while the 5' 3" draft and proven monohull design provide the sailing characteristics that have made the Catalina 30 a longtime favorite.

Auxiliary power is provided by a 20 HP Beta diesel paired with direct drive and a bronze propeller. The helm is equipped for straightforward operation, and the boat's sailing inventory includes a mainsail and headsail with roller furling. The rig is complemented by manual winches and deck hardware arranged for practical cruising.

Step below and you'll find the warm, traditional Catalina interior with abundant woodwork and a functional cruising layout. The main salon provides opposing seating that can also contribute to the boat's sleeping accommodations. Forward is the private V-berth cabin, while additional sleeping space is provided aft.

The galley is equipped with a stove and oven, microwave, double sink, pressurized water, and icebox. A dedicated head with shower adds to the boat's cruising capability, while the navigation station provides a useful space for charts, electronics, and onboard planning.

A Marine Air air-conditioning system is a particularly welcome feature for time spent aboard during warmer weather. Other equipment with the vessel includes GPS-plotter, VHF radio, compass, stereo, shore power, bimini, cockpit table, swim ladder, davits, and anchoring equipment.

With her established Catalina pedigree, diesel auxiliary power, comfortable accommodations, and practical cruising equipment, this Catalina 30 offers a lot of boat in an approachable size. She is ready for a new owner to put their own touches on a classic design and enjoy the next chapter on the water.
