2002 Prowler 450 Power Catamaran -- Where Weekends Become Memories
Some boats take you out on the water. This one takes you away from everything else. Built in Durban, South Africa in 2002, this 48-foot Prowler 450 power catamaran is an absolute eye-catcher -- an invitation to cast off on a Friday afternoon, watch the coastline shrink in your wake, and drop anchor somewhere the only agenda is a good sunset. From her sleek lines to the panoramic windows the seller describes as bullet-resistant, she turns heads in every harbor -- while wrapping you in light and unbroken water views from the comfort of the salon.
Below deck, this catamaran was made for sharing the good life. Four staterooms -- two with king-size beds and two with medium beds -- each with its own skylight, so you and your guests can fall asleep beneath the stars. Four full heads with well-kept showers mean everyone gets comfort and privacy, no waiting in line on morning number two. And when the day winds down, a cherry wood bar with wine rack and seating becomes the heart of the evening -- the perfect setting for recounting the day's adventures over a glass of something good.
Up top, the flybridge is where memories get made: a table and wrap-around seating for ten, ideal for sunset cocktails, a leisurely lunch at anchor, or simply watching the world drift by from the best seat on the water.
The 2005 swim-step upgrade extended her from 45 to 48 feet and made life aboard effortless -- stepping on with a week's provisions, slipping in for a morning swim, or launching the paddleboards. Navigation equipment includes radar, GPS autopilot, remote control, and Nobeltec electronic charting software, and she carries six deep-cycle house batteries plus two engine starting batteries in the engine compartment.
Recent care includes a freshwater-cooled generator installed in June 2018, updated salon and passageway flooring, and an exhaust realignment to address fumes being drawn back toward the aft deck -- so the aft deck stays the inviting gathering spot it was meant to be. And with seller-reported fuel economy of 4 miles per gallon, this is a catamaran that lets you chase the horizon without chasing the fuel dock.
This is more than a 45-foot power catamaran; it's a floating getaway with room for everyone you love. The lifestyle you've been dreaming about is waiting at the dock. Call today to arrange a viewing -- and see how quickly "someday" becomes "this weekend."
