The 2009 Fountain 38 LX is a high-performance offshore sport cruiser that blends luxury accommodations with the aggressive speed and handling for which Fountain is known.
Built on Reggie Fountain's twin-step deep-V performance hull, the 38 LX is designed to run fast and comfortably in rough offshore conditions while still offering overnight capability and upscale amenities. The boat delivers excellent stability, smooth ride quality, and confident handling in open water.
It is powered by triple Mercury Verado outboards producing 900 horsepower, allowing top speeds in the 60- to 70-mph range and cruising speeds around 40-50 mph, making it one of the fastest boats in its class.
The cockpit is designed for versatility, offering wraparound seating, a large helm with full electronics space, in-deck fish boxes, rod storage, and outriggers, making it equally capable for offshore fishing or day cruising.
Below deck, the 38 LX features a surprisingly spacious cabin with over six feet of headroom, a forward V-berth, a convertible dinette, an enclosed head with shower, and a compact galley with microwave, refrigerator, sink, and cooktop.
It includes air conditioning, flat-screen TV, premium sound system, and high-gloss cabinetry, creating a comfortable overnight or weekend cruiser.
The combination of a luxury interior, a tournament-capable cockpit, and a race-inspired hull makes the 2009 Fountain 38 LX a versatile "go-fast" cruiser well-suited for offshore fishing, island-hopping, and long-range coastal cruising.
