The classic sleek lines of this sloop, when at the buoy or under sail, gives it its time honored beauty. The Seventeen Square Meter can be handled by one or sailed with a complete crew. While being a pleasure sailor it also qualifies as an excellent club racing boat. The fiberglass hull and deck has the advantage of low maintenance while the aluminum mast and position of the mast step on the deck makes it possible for two people to rig the sloop quickly and with a minimum of effort. The Seventeen Square Meter Sloop is a fully trallerable keelboat, easily transported and launchable off a deep water launching ramp. The Seventeen Square Meter Keel Sloop built by Seventeens Inc. is a fiberglass version of the mahogany sloop designed in the early 1900’s. The Seventeen Square Meter Class established at Walloon Lake, Michigan, where the first Seventeens were designed and built.
