The 2018 SX195 is a compact 19-foot bowrider with an 8-foot beam, a dry weight of about 2,238 lbs, and room for eight.

Under the hatch sits Yamaha's 1.8L Super Vortex High Output (SVHO) supercharged four-stroke, driving a jet pump with a stainless-steel impeller. Independent tests of this generation put it on plane in about 2.5 seconds, to 30 mph in the mid-5s, and near 52 mph on top--with surprisingly efficient cruise for a jet. No exposed propeller. Draft around 13 inches. You can run skinny water, beach it, and let kids swim off the stern without a spinning blade in the mix.

Yamaha's articulating keel is the quiet hero. It helps the SX195 carve instead of slide, so turns stay planted when you're towing a tube or carving a slalom. Jet thrust plus that keel is why these boats feel more precise than older jet runabouts.

Deep bow seating with wrap-around combings, a roomy cockpit, a swivel helm chair, and a large two-tier swim platform with padded lounge and telescoping ladder. Sun pad aft. Bimini for shade. Under-seat and in-floor storage for boards, anchors, and coolers. Marine stereo with Bluetooth so the soundtrack follows you from the ramp to the sandbar.

Quality is the Yamaha habit: purpose-built marine powertrain (not a converted car engine), saltwater-capable driveline, clean service access, and the same company standing behind hull and motor.

Fit and finish on the 195 series was a step up in this era--better upholstery, grab rails, and details than "just a 19-footer" usually gets.
