This 2020 C-Dory TomCat 255 is a remarkably well-equipped pilothouse power catamaran featuring twin Suzuki 175 HP four-stroke outboards, an extensive 600Ah lithium battery system, premium Garmin electronics, upgraded rooftop air conditioning, and a recently installed Rhodan GPS trolling motor. The impressive collection of electrical, navigation, fishing, and trailer upgrades makes this TomCat particularly appealing to buyers seeking a capable, technologically advanced cruising and fishing platform.
The upgraded electrical system is a major highlight. Its 600Ah lithium house battery bank is paired with a Growatt SPF 3000TL LVM-24P 3,000-watt inverter/charger, Victron Energy Orion-Tr Smart isolated DC-to-DC charger, ProMariner ProNautic 1220P battery charger, ProSafe FS30 fail-safe galvanic isolator, heavy-duty electrical bus bars, and dual battery switching equipment. This sophisticated installation provides substantial onboard electrical capability for cruising, fishing, and overnight use.
The Houghton rooftop air conditioner is another standout feature. Rather than requiring a continuously running generator, the system can operate from the upgraded lithium battery bank. The seller reports approximately eight hours or more of battery-powered cooling, with longer runtimes possible depending on conditions. He reports maintaining a comfortable cabin temperature even during hot Florida weather.
At the helm, the electronics package includes a Garmin GPSMAP 8610xsv 10-inch full-HD touchscreen chartplotter-sonar combination, a second Garmin GPSMAP 1022 10-inch chartplotter, Garmin radar, and Garmin VHF communications equipment. The dual-display arrangement provides excellent flexibility for navigation, radar viewing, and marine electronics.
Twin Suzuki DF175APX four-stroke outboards deliver a combined 350 horsepower through stainless steel propellers. The Suzuki Precision Control system features electronic throttle and shifting, integrated engine start/stop controls, power trim, engine synchronization and single-lever operation, along with Select and Throttle Only functions. A dedicated Suzuki digital engine information display provides engine operating data at the helm.
The boat also features Suzuki's Troll Mode control system, designed for precise low-RPM operation when trolling with the main engines. This is separate from the recently installed Rhodan GPS trolling motor, which provides GPS position holding and controlled maneuvering without continuously operating the Suzukis.
The Rhodan system operates from its own dedicated 48V lithium battery, independent of the house battery bank. Its GPS anchoring capability is particularly valuable for fishing, allowing the operator to maintain position without deploying a traditional anchor in suitable conditions. The seller reports that this system has been used only twice since installation and estimates the trolling motor and battery package cost approximately $4,500.
The TomCat's twin-hull design provides a stable, spacious platform for coastal cruising, fishing, and overnight adventures. The generous cockpit features twin insulated fish boxes with macerator pumps, room for fishing equipment, convenient outboard access, and a swim ladder.
Inside the enclosed pilothouse, the accommodations include comfortable helm and passenger seating, a convertible dinette that provides an additional sleeping berth, and a spacious forward queen-plus berth. Additional equipment includes a KUUMA six-gallon marine water heater, freshwater system, shore-power connection, and opening windshield.
A premium Float-On tandem-axle trailer is included, equipped with electric-over-hydraulic brakes. The seller also added a professionally installed bow-access step arrangement at the front of the trailer, making boarding and launching more convenient. Spare tire includes full hub assembly.
