What sets a deck boat apart from other types of vessel is its shape and function. Deck boats have V-shaped hulls, which are designed to handle water easier by distributing weight over more surface area than flat bottomed ones do. Pontoons lie flat on the water with the deck balanced on two or three hollow aluminum tubes.
